We’re Ben + Ashley, the husband-and-wife team behind Rent Your Retro — wedding photographers who fell in love with the nostalgia and emotion that only vintage-inspired imagery can bring.

After 15 years of documenting weddings, we saw how much couples crave moments that feel real, imperfect, and deeply personal. That’s why we created Rent Your Retro: to give couples a way to capture their day through a fun, guest-driven experience that feels as meaningful as it is memorable.

get to know the vision behind RYR

Rent Your Retro was born from a love of storytelling and a deep appreciation for photography + videography. After 15 years of documenting weddings and love stories, we found ourselves continually drawn to the nostalgic feel of film and old home movies. Not as a replacement for a photographer or a videographer, but as a complement to them.

We wanted to make this way of documenting accessible not just for those who have experience with photography + videography but for the couples themselves, for their wedding guests, for your children on their vacation, for the couple on their honeymoon. Everyone can use these cameras without any experience.

We found that so many families and couples take photos and videos on their phones just to have them sit there or to watch them back in small clips. We wanted to be able to take our experience in film editing and apply that to Rent Your Retro. After the weekend is over and everything is complete you simply send your cameras back in to us and we take care of the rest!

What we do

We rent new digital cameras with a retro nostalgic feel, ready to go when you open the box so you can document your most meaningful moments in a way that feels thoughtful and fun! Each box is hand packed by us with everything you need for your special weekend or getaway, from how to videos, to printable Canva templates for your guest book table.

Once your wedding weekend or getaway is over, you simply put it all back in the box with a prepackaged label, send it off, and wait for us to get it back. We will edit a highlight film of your weekend + send you everything back digitally (with other fun add-on options!)
